And the velocity tearing the Baden Powell footbridge another one will definitely not leave it standing either.

Water velocity goes up exponentially as the canyon gets narrower. Goes down when the river widens.

you could use the grantham str bridge. What's up with that weird shitty old landscaping building? When was that last a functioning building?

I think its owned by the Squamish FN, if you mean that thing that looks like a depot for fill, gravel and boulders.

If the pipe survives the torrent (by virtue of its hydrodynamic cylindrical profile), I could shimmy along the pipeline with my shopping bags, Super Bucks coupons and recyclable containers.

Fisheries has done some blasting in the past at the exit of the Seymour Canyon. Its possible they would do it again if the new rockslide seriously impedes the fish.

For some reason I am thinking of the Simpsons episode where a pig gets launched from the end of a culvert.

Interesting perspective Shirk…. Possibly having your house wash away is not serious? I spent more than a few days at friends houses on riverside in my youth…. We had fun at pool 99….. Being washed away in there house was not on the list of fun.

Looks like they removed the railing to stop it catching debris, reducing the potential for it to be washed away. Good idea.

Its gonna mean oldschool survival, like being reduced to relying Safeway instead of SuperStore.

If I can't get my Presidents Choice people in charge are going to get a serious ass whoopin off me via email or in a Facebook post.

hmm, i wonder what the chances are of that bridge still being there in the morning. Duncan, you better do your grocery run to stupid store tonight just in case.

Holee fuk. Here's perspective in case you've never swam under that bridge. This is a normal fall season water level, about waist deep in this shot.

Wow. I wouldn't be anywhere near the river lower than the rock fall. Good luck to the people who live alongside the river.
