Looks like a sick bike.

Any feedback on the DB Air? How does it compare to the DB coil?

Winter jumpy / shuttle bike. Rocky Mountain Slayer. -1.5 angleset, CCBD Air, XO build, DT Wheels. Wirebead STs, Atlas stem and bar.

For all the questions on the DB Air, it's a nice shock. I rode a Coil DB on my Flatline for the spring and early summer. It was great, easily tuneable to make my bike into a race rig for plowing, or a bit more poppy for the whistler days, all with damping adjustments. I also ran a much lower spring weight and more damping. It just worked!

The CCDB Air is the same: I was able to tune it right away for my Slayer, and make it work for the varied terrain at the Woodlot. I might run a bit more PSI for Whistler days and back off the low speed compression.

I think the best feature of the CCDBs is that you don't really need a custom tune if you're going to buy one. The tuning range can accommodate a huge variety of suspension rates and rider preferences. Worth the money.

What's the BCD on those X0 crank arms? What size chainring?

Nice rig ken!

104bcd with a 36t ring. If I planned on making a more pedal friendly version, I'd gear down to a 34 or 32t. Pretty sure I will keep the bike as is though for lazy whistler/woodlot/shuttle days, as I have other options for pedal AM bikes.

sounds like a next generation isx-6, but without the volume adjust (though i guess you could use a spacer in the air can). the crux is knowing how to adjust it properly rather than relying on a set tune, but if you're comfortable with that (obviously you are) sky's the limit. to suit the rune's suspension i've dialed out every ounce of compression damping on my manitou, low and high speed, and its shockingly good ;)

ah the isx-6. I did indeed find it magical. I liked a half to 3/4 turn of low speed on the rune.

Check my stuff for sale!

Nice Dave! Put that stuff on a scale and weigh it!

This is my test bike right now, but I've swapped a bunch of my own parts on to it to see how the bike performs in different builds on the different travel modes. Swapping the fork, shock, tires, and pedals saved 5.5 pounds… it's tipping the scales at 35.3 right now, which isn't bad considering the rims and tires are still fairly hefty.

Great work everyone!!

This trip to Kelowna was definately an undertaking - Liam and I had been planning this project for 24 hours. We worked really hard to pull out all the stops in this video. We had slo-mo goggle shots; time lapses; pedal flips; outrageous product shots; unloading and loading the bike; walking through the field with your hand in wheat. At the end of the day this trip was all about just getting out and riding with all my friends.

Does 4.2" count?
