Yep, - there are a bunch of jumps on that Evo, U-Line, Atomic Dog link up on Galbraith that I bypassed as well. I wish the contract I was working on down in Bellingham wasn't over; I had almost gotten the guts up to try the two optional stump drops on EVO. There were some HUGE doubles at the bottom of U-Line (I think) that I wouldn't hit in a million years. The great thing is everything big is optional and U-line especially works up gradually from super safe table tops to some small doubles and then gives more advanced options lower down. Perfect for a nearly 50 YO bike jumping newbie like myself. My wife would kill me if I went away on a business trip and ended up in the hospital because I went biking after work! I only had one very minor wipe out in at least 10 rides in that area which is much better than my North Shore record :)

I just rode that new Incline - powerlines linkup again yesterday for the 3rd time. I'm still trying to work out the timing on the jumps / rolls as the spacing / timing on some of them seems funny to me. Someone was working on a video there at the time so hopefully they post this soon so I can see how this is really supposed to be done:rolleyes: It's a great addition for sure, although I kind of miss the final straight down eroded Incline crash and bash rock fest that I had finally pretty much mastered after riding it all winter. ;)

The straight shot on Incline is still where it was for you to enjoy.

Give the district a message and tell them how you feel about the skills park. Only way for them to get it together is if the public puts some pressure on them because everything else is clearly not working.

I've been on the defensive since I started trail building because I think no one should slag any kind of trail work. Why is mountain biking unique? Because you get back what you put in. I stay away from negative stuff on here infact if the doctor knew I was on here he would probably smack me in the face but it's very hard for me to sit back and read the Expresso/Bookwus comment, it sparks me into a frenzy which I should not be in. I actually shared this article on Facebook and agreed with his stance. We want variety. There is a reason I drive to Squamish/whistler/Pemberton to ride we have it all under our nose. Take a breath it feels good doesn't it?

And Craw since I've been clear, can I ask what trails you work on?

Ridership huge + no maintenance = bye bye trails. Do people actually think that just because they are sanctioned that it means that they can't be taken away? Just because I have my permits on Floppy and Bobsled doesn't mean that's all I work on. But thanks for referring to those trails. And by the way DNV is concluding a study on Fromme. They are measuring everything from soil degradation to harmony of the trail ect….

Is it fair to say that said homogenization is due to factors like accommodating the huge influx of new-intermediate riders and the perceived tourist revenue which drives municipal investment towards trails that satisfy the many versus the few?

Go up Fromme on any nice weekend, being a lawn chair, I'll bring the barbecue and beers and be prepared to see 1000 riders riding up. Not a joke number I've counted working at the Bottom of Floppy. I run the Sorca trail crew I see what is happening there. People have to remember I've spent basically everyday in the forest for a good 5 years. Paid or unpaid building.

I'm not trying to convince anyone what to ride. I merely would like to try to educate. But unfortunately if you are closed minded you only hear what you want to hear, you can't teach anyone who doesn't want to learn.

at the end of the day I think it's better to have some people that are passionate and disagree with each other than a lot of people that don't care.

The only problem is that doing nothing and lettings our trails fall apart wasn't working. Do I have to list trails? We have lost trails already on Fromme because no one stepped up. I for one have stepped up. If only everyone could work together instead of complaining trails are getting too easy we would be in a good spot.

Anyone who really knows me knows that I love all trails. I like skinnies, I like tech, I like flow. Yes I said it I like flow, opening a bike up and going fast is fun. I don't need to pretend I'm super hardcore to impress anyone. Open your mind and maybe you will be pleasantly surprised.

and while i agree with you that an individual trail may not have soul, a riding area can and does have a soul. moab has a certain soul. colorado has a certain soul. the shore definitely has a certain soul.

Who cares what you ride, that is up to you. If everyone put as much effort into building as talking about maintaining then maybe "we" would still have these trails to ride. Until then enjoy what you have because trails don't work on themselves.
