A pile of goods to peruse in this issue, including squishy bits, bits that squish, and bits that protect your squishy bits.

"I don’t really believe in this macho nonsense about riding in all-weathers all-year round. Is it really that enjoyable? If you want to suffer in the outdoors just to make a cup of coffee in the forest then I believe you may have been born in the wrong century."

Was that necessary?

"It bums me out profoundly that time is wasted because of the variation in different “standards” but at least I don’t have to get a whole new wheel."
You boys need to talk to each other.. it seems that you had all the necessary goodies sent to you when Easton kindly send you wheelsets to review…

I have broken the Roc-Loc 5 on my Xar twice now, it's going in for a warranty replacement again and this time the helmet is being sold. Got a fresh POC for my noggin now with a much sturdier looking Roc-loc variant.

Really ?! $450 for a rain shell for riding on the Shore ??

I know they're a local company (with products made offshore), and they send you this swag, and they now seem to be wanting to tap into the mountain bike market more with some honourable sponsorship, but let's have some proper testing or you may as well just post up an Arc'teryx advert.

For example, I learnt that you "occasionally ….. get forced to ride in the wet" and "have worn their jackets since last year" , but you then go on to say that these jackets " do outlast most supposed waterproof mountain bike brand jackets three times over". Pretty bold statement, based on …. ?

Don't like to be a dick, but that's a pretty worthless review. I do ride in the wet, and I'll be sticking with my other local brand mountain bike specific waterproof jacket that is still going strong after two years and was $200 full retail - thanks Sombrio.

Come on NSMB, you can do better than this.

Not sure whether to cry or laugh at the $130 Snuggie.

And is it a matter of time before Arcteryx comes out with a $400 Napsack?

my parents just brought me back some Icebreaker stuff from NZ, super nice, but really expensive…

And, not made in NZ anymore.

Is there a Vancouver in Taiwan?! I had no idea!!

Nothing sums up my life's achievements like my stuffed corpse, suplexing a cougar.

This trip to Kelowna was definately an undertaking - Liam and I had been planning this project for 24 hours. We worked really hard to pull out all the stops in this video. We had slo-mo goggle shots; time lapses; pedal flips; outrageous product shots; unloading and loading the bike; walking through the field with your hand in wheat. At the end of the day this trip was all about just getting out and riding with all my friends.

Make sure you only get the video code which everything after "v=" and before "[HTML_REMOVED]feature" (which isn't always there) on the actual video link. Yours is v5Lmkm5EF5E and put it between the youtube tags as you have done with the link. Make sure you do not have the url tags inside of it though.

I found this year piling on base layers worked better than actual jackets for me. A jacket always seemed to get too hot, and when it was removed I would get too cold. However with three or four very warm thin layers that stay warm when they're wet I was able to comfortably go all day and pull one off and stash it at a trail top if needed without freezing afterward. I didn't do anything ultramontane, but it worked for local rips.

Occasionally, however, I get forced to ride in the wet

You poor thing. If you don't ride in the wet, how can you offer an "informed" opinion about a rain jacket?

Someone should duct tape this cat to a high chair and blast some ultramontane for his/her ass. Winter riding makes days like today taste all the sweeter!

Everyone is pissed that they're inside working when it's so nice outside.

Being cheap is OK. Being a clueless sanctimonious condescending douchebag is just Vlad's MO.
