The XT brakes are with me too as back ups. It did cross my mind.

Thanks for the feedback. Never having run formula brakes and never having a brake that needed anything other than a bleed i didn't know that earlier formula brakes were afflicted with these issues. I have had the brakes one for about a month, but that has seen me on the bike a lot, I would guess at 35 hours of riding time so far.

I can throw them on a scale and update…. But currently the bike is packed in a bag waiting for me to fly to New Zealand!
On lever bite points, I like to have the bite point so that the lever is parallel to the bar at that point. I was absolutely able to have the lever set up like that. I don't see why I couldn't have had the bite point even closer to the bar as that new lever shape should allow it.

Yeah I stand corrected on that. I did a scale test on the bolts and they are lighter than the steel bolts that were used for my XT discs assumed they were titanium as I misread the spec on the website:

The neon yellow is seriously bright, so much so that Morgan struggled to take a good picture of it. For visibility it is great, for blending in, not so much. If you want to do double duty with commuting just wear some reflective cuffs and such like and go for the black.

It is coming. I've seen Kevin Walsh (Owner of Evil) riding locally on what seems like a Following with a Metric shock with the trunion mount. Just seen it in passing so I can't tell if the front mech mount has gone and the integrated chain guide has been incorporated.

I'm waiting to see the splattered blood when a Trump co- conspirator walks up to Cam and spouts off some nazi propaganda bs expecting a sympathetic ear…

I have a year on a DVO Diamond on my Evil Following and I'm very impressed with that fork. I'm running it at 140mm travel and the ability to tune that fork to my liking makes me tingle in my special spot.

Supple initial action, nice mid-stroke support and tidy ramp at full travel. Reliable too.

I've ran Pikes before, have a 34 tuned by Vorsprung on another bike and also have a 36.. I think the DVO is as good if not better in some respects.

My Evil Following has to be the one bike that I get a huge grin from riding no matter the trail. It hits way above where it's travel says it should and loves some back wheel.

Add to that my Chromag Surface, which hits certain pleasure spots that it probably shouldn't.

For those that are curious the Rocky Sprinter, a 3500 170 extended model, has about 90,000kms on it after 2 years and the average economy is around 11.5L/100km. The van is mostly always fully loaded up with 20+ bikes, tents, demo gear, etc.

Yep a small iteration in the development, not a step change. However the rear stays and the clevis-style pivots will stiffen the rear end of that frame up a lot. The Stumpjumper was a revelation in that respect from the current Enduro.

When The Following was released all I could do was say "Damn!" I like the subtle changes to it. What shock do you run? I'd love to fit a piggyback shock on there.

Just the stock Monarch but with an extra spacer in the air can to help it ramp up a touch more. A piggyback sadly won't fit the Following. The shock can get pretty warm on rides when I'm hitting it hard but hasn't let go on me yet. I'm running the fork at 140mm and the bike in the "low" setting. The geo in X-low is too slack with that travel of fork.

Yep, spoilt for choice.

I had one of those rides where I just fell in love with my Evil Following again last night. That bike is so playful and fun to ride. When you have that kind of zest in you to throw it around it is such a willing bike.

^why so soon? have yet to ride one, but love the idea of it.

granted, the following would probably suit me better as an all rounder.

The Following is plenty of bike for the shore with the exception of the fastest and more chundery trails. It is shocking how much you can throw at that bike.

I am definitely a fan of a rim width around the 30mm mark and 2.35" tires like a Magic Mary. I am also running a 29mm I-w rim with a 2.5" DHF that feels solid to me too at 19 psi. It's all about the support when cornering for me and not feeling that squirm as the tires rolls. The bike feels really surefooted.
