Gravel parking lot to upper Mosquito Lake trails ie Cream Puff.

Is there a more direct climbing route other than either the road or Happy/Waco/Road?

I like to climb radio tower. Not sure It's a wise choice mid afternoon on a weekend though with folks coming down hot. Bit sporty in a couple spots but is a fun and direct route.

Just a speculative fiction. No cause for alarm.

Was thinking of heading up to Pemby next weekend. I will buy a map but have zero knowledge of the trail network. Can anybody suggest some good laps to pedal? I'm looking for something that will put me around a 20 km day, give or take. Rock faces, old school techy, new school flow…it's all good. I'd prefer to climb singletrack over FSRs, if possible. Thanks!

You are in for a treat then. Pemby has it all. You should ride Happy-Waco-Nimby-Let it go as a great climb and then down overnight sensation (as the race course goes) and then go play on the trails around Mosquito Lake. All the trails are quite fun. Cream Puff is a great one full of rock slabs.

Try Meat Grinder over in the Mosquito area and Tower of Power in the One Mile network of trails for classic Pemby awesomeness. Hit up PhD on your way south

For an area to try with no gravel road, try the One Mile Lake trails. When you buy the map, ask them to draw on the new trails and the suggested loop.

Gravitron is open and cleared FYI. By the sounds of it, the Pemby crew has been clearing lots of trails and doing some fantastic work.

If you're shuttling, the road up is in very rough shape. Better bring the trail bike…

"Awesome" as in 'relentless sufferfest' or "awesome" as in 'you hardly realise you are climbing and you pop out of the top of the trail nice n fresh' ?

Enquiring minds would like to know…

tough, but less relentless than nimby, I think anyway, and also, you go through some really awesome old growth forest.

If Middle Earth is clear does that mean JTR is good to go as well?

JTR is about 1500 feet higher than Middle Earth - plus no one has been up with a chainsaw yet. Oh, and the bottom got logged this past winter.

But someone has to be the first… report back!

Middle Earth still has a bunch of trees down on it, couple down low, the bulk near the top.
