I had a fun couple of days on the Pemby trails this weekend. It will be even better when I learn the trails - I seem to go the wrong way up many, culminating in an ascent of Grumpy Grouse (not recommended!). Fortunately a trio of helpful souls confirmed where I was, just a little to the left of plan. A few happy snaps:

The forest was looking beautiful, a little rain keeping the surface moist. I love the colours on a day like this.

Top of the trail, apparently I am the meat today. My bike looks the most like a trek of any bike I have seen yet.

A shot down the trail - great fun with a combination of "woohoo" and "oh shit I better pull this off!". Usually not in that order though.

I'll be back like Arnie! There are a few spots that beat me on the day.

Cheers Ben

Props to the trail fairy who cleared upper Nimby. The tree next to the creek was cleared today. Whoever goes through there next please take five minutes to clear the branches that I left behind. Sorry, I had to get to work. Nimby to Overnight is now totally clear and free of snow. For those misguided souls who are descending Nimby and cutting the switchbacks, please stop.

The trails in the 1 mile lake area that we rode have been cleared and are in great shape. Lots of fun today, nice to see the sun.

Thinking of heading up there tomorrow to take a pre-ride of the Nimby course.

Has anyone ridden the course yet this year? Judging from this forum and the update email sent out by the race organizers this morning, it should be good to go, but I wanted to see if anyone has any first-hand accounts.

I didn't ride the course but the Mackenzie FSR parking lot was almost full (lots of people out) and we did talk to a guy who was training on the course yesterday. Based on the trails we rode and how much clearing had been done, I'm betting that it course is good to go.

Clear to the paraglider launch and Fifty [HTML_REMOVED] Overnight

Very windy today so wouldn't be surprised if trees are down

Boardwalk connecting Bathtub to Happy can now be ridden sans mud. Please use the floating masterpiece so that we avoid conflict with CN.

Haha. I rode the floating masterpiece a few weeks back for the first time with friends. I knew exactly what that was when you called floating.

Debate? Bikes are made for riding not pushing.

Loose and scrabbly. That is all.

Due to localized flooding in the Pemberton valley several trails are under water.

Do not use the CN bridge/Bathtub trail - the Lillooet is running high and full of debris. Access the trails from the gravel pit on Pemberton Farm Rd.

The road exit from Stimulus is likely under water - I'd avoid it for now.

The flats at the bottom of Lumpy's are completely under water.

Gravel parking lot to upper Mosquito Lake trails ie Cream Puff.

Is there a more direct climbing route other than either the road or Happy/Waco/Road?
