Whoa. Didn't expect that result.

When one person suffers from a delusion, it is called insanity.

When many people suffer from a delusion, it is called religion.

PQ focussed on "Loony Tunes" issues like religious dress and holding yet another "sovereignty" referendum. I guess most people in Quebec care more about things like jobs, the economy, health care and ways to ride the Whistler Bike Park without paying.

The PQ can hold their party meetings in the local Starbucks.

They would meet in a "Cerfs étoiles".

And those nasty students from Ontario.

You mean those folks who were refused voter registration because they've only lived in Quebec for 23 of the last 24 months? Permanent resident, pssssshhht.

yay.

it's too bad those dumb sepratiste types can't clue in to the fact that their whole "distinct society" clown parade would have far more traction with the avg canadian if they weren't such a bunch of belligerant twits about it. as far as i'm concerned they can all just fuck off into a giant black hole of fuck-offery.

We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.

Remember what Mulcair said about it being that generation of separatists last hurrah.
Soundly defeated I hope it consigns them to the dustbin of history.

Alberta wouldn't separate. Calgary may purchase Kootenay and rename the region "New Canmore", but that's just a rumour.

I'm glad my theory seemed to play out, the 'separatist' vote in Quebec is largely a protest vote and a place to park their vote when they don't like the other options, but when it comes down to it the vast majority of them really aren't into actually separating from Canada, and are pretty socially tolerant and progressive.

^^^ Either that or they realized they'd have to take a sizeable chunk of the national debt with them

Dos maudis anglais wit deir transfer payment to hus an all dos mean tings dey do. Being half French Canadian and having gone to a French school to grade 7, I am sort of qualified to tell separatists that they have it good. You feel your culture is threatened? No government dictate will help you keep your culture. People retain their culture because they want to.

Debate? Bikes are made for riding not pushing.

Exactly. If you have to mandate the preservation of your culture you have already lost. In the multicultural world we live in today being a "distinct society" doesn't really hold any meaning. Every city in the country is distinct from one another.
