I am doing a Whistler trip in the next couple weeks. I will do it during the week though. I figure it will mean many more laps.
whoo hooo

What is the sea to sky like during the week. Say timewise from horseshoe bay to whistler.
Anybody want to chime in.

Any info would be great as I realize it is a construction zone for the olympics.

It took me 1.5 hrs from Horseshoe Bay last Tuesday. No traffic and only one five minute construction delay.

Possibly heading up Thursday if anyone wants to carpool.

I'm always interested in ride(s) to Whistler… I got a pass last weekend… If my wounds are healed and my bike is fixed I'm down.

last week we were going to go up but they had 3 separate areas with a 30 minute wait each. not worth it with a baby in the car.

Being an agoraphobic adrenaline junkie would be pretty convenient, because you could get your rush from just going to the store to get some milk instead of having to jump off a mountain or out of an airplane.

they also call me "balloon"

its not to bad i actually don't mind the construction i still think it cool to see a huge machine cutting through a mountain.

on a side note to the guy in a blue s10 with a bike in the back who flashed their lights on the highway thanks for saving me a ticket.

It took 2 1/2 hours from Port Moody this morning so call it about 1:45 from Horshoe Bay. A couple of short waits and a couple of following buses and big trucks and lots of 50 kmh zones.

The park was in pretty sweet shape for early season conditions.

I do the drive 3 times a week for work…

average is 1:30 to 1:45. I find it pretty interesting to see the changes in the hwy taking shape.

The Sea to Sky project page has lots of good info. If you can drive in the delay free times, or even just on the edges of them you're usually pretty good. Check out: http://projects.ch2m.com/TrafficUpdate/Delay_Free_Times.htm

But have the drivers skills improved? How about Larry Brakefoot who needs to slow down to 30KMH for every little curve?

There's no passing lane for ~20k before Whistler due to construction in those lanes.

Sucks when you're stuck behind the Greyhound. Puffs of black smoke coming at you every 20-30 seconds.

enduramil its actually gotten a little better i find the big problem is the "speedster" driving 80 in the passing lane.

Thanks for the insight. I guess I am looking at 1.5 hrs.
I think I can live with that
