2014 Giant Trance Advanced SX looks hella tight. Wonder if a frame only option will be available.

2014 Giant line is up on the USA website. Looks like pricing is going up on all models though.

So any Trance frame then.

^ Is the only difference between SX and regular Trance models just the 20mm longer travel fork?

$3100 is a steep price to pay for that frame

Why slag free swag?

Yeah. Real shame IMO. Different upper link and a little more stroke for 10 or 20mm more travel and the 66 HA and it'd be killer.

Yeah, I noticed both have 5.5" rear wheel travel. Wonder if a company like PUSH will offer a linkage/shock setup to increase travel.

For $2,200 the Trance seems like a great bike to buy, ride, beat, upgrade, and repeat. I've said it else-where, but the $1,800 difference between the Trance 3 and the SX allows a lot of room for upgrades.

That being said, the budget model Troy or 160mm Prototype starting at $3,000 would be probably have my money.

OMG….the German newsweekly Der Spiegel runs an article about the death of the 26" wheel…apparently the industry no longer produces any 26" mtbs…blablabla. No English version sadly.

Norco drops the venerable Shinobi for 2014. definitely gone ALL in with killer b. i'm surprised to see just how far B is going, and how fast it's taking over. and i do believe it is taking over. i wonder what the market will look like in even 3 years. as it stands i wonder if even 29 will falter and slim out as 26 almost seems to be dying out. then again, i wonder if it only seems like 26 is dying out but may still remain the mainstay of much of the world's mtn bike production. Spesh, Yeti, many smaller and Euro brands, many more than i even know. i suspect that most mtn bikes made today and tomorrow will be 26ers. am i off base with this assumption?
