This will sound like a bad AA meeting but here goes…I have been a neglectful rider. I have enjoyed many of the local lower mainland trails for years without participating in a trail day. There are always excuses, like I have three kids and a busy career etc., but they are still excuses. I sincerely appreciate the work done on trails. I'm sure I

Theres lots of grass roots stuff. It depends on what you consider "corporate sponsorship" though.
Theres lots of other local organizations that do trail maint on top of it all. You can always donate to the NSMBA for lower mainland stuff, theres also:
SORCA, WORCA, *RCA, SCFU, etc.

(thats all the ones that pop into my mind because they are easier to remember, not a complete list at all)

Also, most shops have a local trail fund jar you can always put some money into. This usually goes towards tools / mesh / nails / whatever is needed by local builders (at least up here)

I wish my lawn was emo, then the grass would cut itself.

Here's a small portion of the new tools that we've purchased for 2007 traildays, from everyone's donations at the Outdoorsshow

If you're from the Fraser Valley just joining the FVMBA ($20 per individual per year and $30 for your whole family) puts money into the trails. All of our membership fees pay for tools, materials and the occasionl lunch.

I have 21,474,850 rep points...

Thanks, I guess this shows my ignorance of how trail days are organized. Is the NSMBA involved in all local trail days? I'll put a little money where my mouth is and put $100 into NSMBA today. Plus I'll look into the FVMBA as well. I was riding SFU the other day and and was impressed with all the work that has been done there.

Cheers, S

Way to go! The NSMBA takes care of all the trails on Fromme and Seymour. Check out the work done on Boogieman!

Good on you.
Just throw a little bit of dough somewhere as every little bit helps and is APPRECIATED.

To find out a little more about the SFU trails hit www.bmba.ca and hit contacts.

Thanks again for all the info. I saw the pics of boogie man, and it looks very solid! The NSMBA site makes it very easy to link on and donate.

My hat is off to you guys (and gals.) you make the Shore the great place that it is.

Would it be appropriate to put the word out that trail days would be a great time to donate $$ if you can't donate time?

why not?

we get people that come out to a trail day, spend the day working and donate cash or cheque.

Online donations are so much easier though, since they make it direct into the bank account automatically, and you get a reciept right away. It really save us a lot of work when you donate online. Thanks!
