While I don't ride mtb anymore, I think the bigger problem is that a bunch of presumably grown men feel that influenced by marketing. Here is a little secret… those guys on that list… are better than you. And not by a little bit, by a lot.

I don't think that they sell that helmet anymore. I also think that it had a warning on it or something stating that it wasn't rated for use with bikes.

But all that aside, what this article fails to mention is that everybody reacts differently to an impact to the head. Yeah the force is less but that could seriously hurt one person while the other walks away.

It is true about getting out into the forest at this time. Even though my tires rarely see dirt; unless it has a coating of manacured park grass seeded above, getting out into the forest and stopping for a few minutes to take it all in is humbling. Reminds me of why I moved here.

Check your local bike shop for a 2013 model… price seems a bit high.

According to that, the pressure went from 1015mb at 2pm to 1012mb at 5pm. I was riding from 2 until 3:30. I don't think that's a significant enough change to give me such wonky readings, though the weather was indeed inclement and changes could have been more significant in the area I was riding. That said, I'm more inclined to think this was a moisture-related hardware problem and not actually the barometric pressure doing something wacky.

Morgman, same thing has been happening to me and it has only been since the weather is really crap. Will try what Craig as said but my thoughts is that it is weather related.

print out confirmation is good for Aldor Acres. if you only want to try it out a citizen license is a good choice.

Dan is at the f'ng hardman level of cross, I am a wuss, I try to enjoy the pain and courses.

I think the best think to do is come out have fun and than start to push the suffering.

HA! We all start somewhere. It is the most fun race/event that I have done as you pass the same people over and over again heckling the crap out of you! DH you pass the pack twice, CX you pass em at least 7 times.

Come out and give it a try… super fun and great vibe.

If your eyes aren't bleeding, legs aren't screaming, you can talk/smile/think about anything else outside of racing or you can actually manage to grab any of the hand-ups… you aren't going fast enough. ;)

I also find oatmeal staves off the hungries for a long time, better than anything else I can think of.

Forget the oatmeal, and have Steel Cut Oats. Less processed and will keep you fuller longer.

Also if you want to eat before you ride into work (don't know what you ride is like, any climbing involved?) the last thing that you should be eating is sugar. You just woke up and so your body is naturally hungry. By not eating, you are basically starving yourself. Then you throw sugar into the equation and you are crashing when you get to work.

I commute everyday that I can, which ends up being most. On top of that I put on anywhere from 150 to 300 km a week on the bike. I eat when I get up in the morning (before I ride into work) Steel Cut Oats with raisins and pecans, and then have a snack (usually an apple or two) before lunch which happens around 11:30.

By the time you have gotten to work, your body is in deficit of nutrients. You are trying to catch up the entire day.

Give eating before you ride into work a try. It worked from me, but everyone is different.

The EV race on the 25th is not happening. They unfortunately couldn't get a venue to work.

The first is Alder Acres in Langley for the Lower Mainland.

i work on both whistler and blackcomb , specifically the hiking trails , and i would recommend the decker loop over on blackcomb over the high note trail .

better views , better trail surface , better management of elevation gain / loss . better walk " reward " as the decker tarn and blackcomb lake offer absolutely beautiful resting spots , whereas the high note trail doesn't really have any " payback ".

not saying it isn't a good trail , but comparing the two ( and i walk them both regularly ) i'd much rather do the decker loop .

i'd give a big thumbs up to the cheakamus lake trail as well . make sure you go all the way to singing creek if you want to get away from the majority , who go as far as the lake / river mouth and then turn around . break up the walk back with a little side trip down to the helm creek bridge over the cheak .

From a trail running perspective which one is better? Doing a ride to Whistler (Sat) and then the Slow Food Ride on Sunday, but really want to get an Alpine run in.

Kelly and I were watching again last night, and how come that hasn't been mentioned yet? They aren't supposed to feed on climbs so they broke that rule and there could have been sugar cubes in that bag for I care, but he shouldn't have been able to feed as none of the other guys did.

Makes me dislike Sky even more….

Great race last night! Soooo good to see so many people out watching. I can only imagine the feeling of that many laps on the monster straight into the finish. Bell, Mier and Andreson put on a quite a how.

Will miss tonight but will be back racing tomorrow in the Hill Climb and the Crit on Sat.
