yea it does take a toll on all things… up until now it was parts and frames breaking, not my bones…. also many things from the far east dont last too long w/ exceptions being the newer specializeds, giants and the odd norco.

and boyscout, i do ride a hardtail w/ a phat fork, doublewides, yada i know what your gettin at

135, 5'8.

Best combo ever. I'm too smooth the break shit… I'm still running 01 Prodegy cranks and they aren't even bent yet. :D Worst thing i've broken was a deraileur and about 15 chains (in one year and thats 15 different chains I went through not just snapping a link 15 times). How do I be smoother with my chains?! I don't even powershift or do anything to kill the fuck out of it. I don't even pedal up hill, I hike. :???:

Today I broke my bike again and that was the longest bike I've had that ran mint(minus no rear brake). Freeriding is killer on the bike, and a murderer on the pocketbook. Looks like I won't be riding for a while because university took all my money. Hopefully I can engineer a chainstay outa steel in my machining class.

Anyone else have this problem of breaking your bike a lot? Freeriding has everything to do with how much you weigh LOL. Being 220 pounds doesn't help. Sometimes I wish I was like you little kids at 140 pounds:lol: **

Man, I should forward this thread to every bike shop in North America who thinks freeriders are bad for business.

 that gave me a good chuckle…

It doesn't take much to break parts I'm finding. I don't go very big at all, and I'm only like 175-180 and I've had both my frame and my fork in on warranty in the last month… I was pretty surprised, because I see so many people going huge, I wonder how they don't bust something every ride…

oh wait… I figured it out… I must be a hack!
