How much does it slow your connection when running?

Technically it could be very little. In reality it will depend on the bandwidth the VPN company will provide. So check out the service you want to use and see how fast their speeds are.

i also got new router sane time as i hooked up the pia. i m actually faster now..:)

Not noticeable when surfing the donkey pornz. I drop about 10-30% on the speed of downloading torrents depending on what server I am connecting to. If it's west coast USA, I have not noticed any significant difference. Most Hi def movies are down in 2-6 hours depending on size. YMMV.
