NSMB, I need to buy two toilets for my condo. I really only need one, but plan on replacing the second one eventually anyways. I know nothing about toilets. There's a whole lot of options. I don't pay for water, so not too concerned on usage. More concerned about where I can get the best deal on a budget and where to buy. Do i need a 400 dollar toilet? I'm hoping to flip this place this year.

Craigslist? I saw toilets sitting in an alley the other day.
If you don't really care you could probably find a couple matching, standard, white porcelain toilets for free.

Get rid of your sink while you're at it

If you want cheap, Rona has toilets for much less than $100

You could poke around Jack's salvage and see if there are any good deals floating around.

I don't want to buy a cheap piece of junk. I'd rather find a good quality toilet for reasonable price

Toto.

If you start researching this, there are lots of toilets that are chronic cloggers, can't pass enough waste, etc.

If you are flipping, go cheap. If not, get a skirted type, much easier to keep clean, and get the handicapped height unless you are really short.

You dont want crane toilets. My friend is an apartment manager and his entire apartment complex had problems with leaking. Guess who made the toilets?

Accept no substitute!

I replaced my toilets (Cranes aka Leakmaster) with Kohlers. Elongated silent flush with low water consumption. They'll flush a lot of matter, are quiet, are comfortable, are really well built, and refill quickly. IMO, it's worth spending the extra money.

Also - your building is most likely metered, so you are paying indirectly for the amount of water you use through strata fees.
