The DNV sucks... Goodbye Blackbear pub

So with the demolition of the Blackbear pub in the near future that leaves Lynn Valley with one restaurant to meet up and be social. The DNV vision of what Lynn Valley Centre should be is laughable. Residental towers with a Browns and Starbucks.

Nice work you toolbags.

Bosa strikes again... We all know there is no stopping the developers.

Lynn Valley is no longer quaint, nor a desirable place to live.

Black Bear is kinda meh imho.  But it does suck that there are no other options in that area.

Didn't you dine at the Bear every night for like 3 years?  🤣

Who orders chicken strips?

Although my calamari last week were terrible, tasted like a third Fattug.

Someone that wants to order something they think can't possibly be fucked up.

At least it's place in the hood that one can walk to and have a beer that isn't a cookie cutter restaurant chain. See tons of bikes on vehicles there so would say the MTB community will miss it. I'm sorry to see it go.

Come to Squamish.  When I moved downtown 5+ years ago there wasn't too much but we keep getting new pubs and restaurants.  I hardly get to any of them, but I hear a few are pretty good.

Agreed.  I love a good outdoor meal, but tailgating takes planning.  If I finish a ride with friends and decide it's time for a beer and a taco I am not heading home to grab the hibachi.  Also, I don't have a hibachi.

The application as submitted proposes 98 rental apartments and approximately 1,115 sq m (12,000 sq ft) of commercial space in a six-storey building with parking for 108 vehicles in an underground parkade (74 for residents; 34 shared visitor-retail) plus 195 bicycle storage spaces.

Why can't there be a pub / eatery within the 12,000 sq ft of commercial space of the redevelopment?

The old Scotia Bank location is for lease, turn it into a pub.

Is the Pizza Hut location really making a go of it on only pizza?

Missing the Black Bear experience? Slip over to Lonsdale and hit Queens Cross. Same same.
