Some people have the inherent ability to have faith without proof. I do not. So yes, a human can have faith, or not, or variations thereof. I know more than enough christians who will say "god exists" without any proof beyond their faith :)

Besides, i like the thought that when we die we die, it encourages you to live it up and enjoy life while you can. That, and who whants an eternal afterlife? I dont feel like going to heaven 100 years old. (assuming thats when i die). What am i gonna do? Alot of things bore me while I am currently 18. I couldnt imaging being 100 and ejoying myself for eternity.
Though i bet the clouds make for some good biking LOL!

we, as humans, will never be able to fathom how much is out there in the universe. its beyond comprehension. to think that we just die and thats it is nuts. sure our physical body is no longer but our soul goes on forever.
Being an agoraphobic adrenaline junkie would be pretty convenient, because you could get your rush from just going to the store to get some milk instead of having to jump off a mountain or out of an airplane.
