leaky swap? You sure it isn't your turbo's oil return line?
Why would you swap that motor into a car that already came with that motor here in canada. should have put it in a 2001 or older impreza or an svx, somthing kick ass.
its an 04 2.0l i swapped into my bugeye, has been running tip top up untill this happened about a week ago.
2.0i is the name of the non turbo Imprezas after they dropped the RS/RT naming. The term "bugeye" usually refers to the 2.0L WRX, which had the EJ205 engine.
Given the picture includes a turbo I'll guess it's a repair job of EJ205 to EJ205, but from an '04 into a '02-'03.
Bugeye is a 02-03 impreza. turbo or na, its the one with the round headlights.
your right its an 04 swapped into an 02. it has been about ten months since the swap so it wasent from that.

For real though, whats wrong with an oil leak? Just keep 'er topped up and your good to go!
The '95 Suburban we use for work leaks oil right on to the front U-joint keeping it nice and rust free!
My '91 F150 leaks all over my starter motor which keeps the mounting bolts nice and lubricated.
My '79 leaks a little oil and that helps keep the weeds down in my driveway.
You have to look at the positive!!
Hug a logger, you'll never go back to trees
Subaru's don't need oil! NOOB

this is also true. i drove my old loyale untill i couldnt hear the stereo over the ticking lifters, then i would add a bit of oil.

I,like ATB, think it is….to clean to be engine oil out of a turbo.

Since we're now being somewhat serious, if it's an early 00s engine, is it the head gaskets leaking? Do you have oil/coolant cross contamination? It's really common on those engines.
