Lol at starting Schneider because it is his home town. If the nucks felt they had a good chance of winning with Lu he'd be playing. You don't pull a goalie after a shutout.

Lu should have kicked and screamed and insisted to play but knows that he is weak minded as do the coaches and they all realize that there is a decent chance that Lu could let in 4-6 goals in a total meltdown.

This. I think AV is putting in schneider so that Lou doesnt get lit the f*ck up by a hot bruins team. Shit, look at the Bruins season +/-. Lou has been playing pretty well lately and AV doesnt want his confidence shaken.

Do you think Thomas would have let the coach bench him for a Stanley Cup rematch? Not an effing chance. The Bruins dont just want to win this game, they want to annihilate the Canucks like they did the Flames.

sad thing is that NBC isn't even carrying the game.

NBC only shows US-market vs US-market games, usually Northeast/Chicago/Detroit, which are the biggest hockey markets. Why would they piss away half their US gameday market to show the Canucks?

Also, weekend afternoon NHL games are more common in the East, this one happens to be a Canucks away game.

As to Schneider vs Luongo, one of the analysts today wondered if the Canucks will be using this game as a showcase to shop Schneider with Eddie Lack on the back burner.

Thatd be an incredibly harsh call.. he didnt even hit him. he just pulled him away from chara. 10+5+2 is deserved… and sufficient.

Pulled him away? By wrapping his arm around Bieksa's neck and yanking like he was trying to behead the guy?

Refs were dealing with it … Lucic didn't belong in that area at all.
