Recommend me a fork!

I am entering the "All Mountain" world.

Bought a 2011 DeVinci Dixon. It calls for a 160mm fork. Frame has a tapered headtube. My riding style is monster truck and I lack finesse. I am pedaling because age tells me I should not because I love the burn. I like to smash down the hill and will be doing park days with it so strength will be valued significantly over weight. Something with adjustable height settings would be nice to aid in the climb.

It is a budget build for now as funds are limited so will not be going out to purchase anything brand new for now.

Unfortunately, I don't know shit about forks. Cursory research shows the Lyric and the 55 looking about right. What else is there?

Help me NSMB, You're my only hope.

Also worth noting that I am in the market for a used 142x12 wheel or hub if anyone has anything reasonably priced kicking around!
Thanks.

I'd say a Lyrik U-Turn Coil ticks all your boxes. They've been around long enough for you to pick one up cheap (plus people will be struggling to sell at this time of year on-wards so it's bargain time for buyers…). You can be fairly sure that the stanchions won't have worn away and they are pretty bombproof.

Topping out at $300.
Cheaper is preferable to allow for more money on other goodies…

I'd second that. Still the best fork I have ever owned. Miss it so, so, much…

[obligatory smartass response]

We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.

If you find a good deal a used Lyrik with the Dual Position air would fit the bill nicely; the older 2-step system was notoriously unreliable so it's best to stay away from those.

Around your budget you're probably more likely to find a used Lyrik u-turn coil which will still be a great fork.

I don't know if it's within your budget (check the pinkbike b[HTML_REMOVED]s for options), but I'm quite happy with my X-Fusion Vengeance and I know they have other offerings with travel adjust in the 160mm range. Plus they seem to be considerably cheaper than the Fox/RS offerings.

Being cheap is OK. Being a clueless sanctimonious condescending douchebag is just Vlad's MO.

Good info guys, thanks.
Older style Marz 55 ata's? Any info on those? I remember at one point some time back hearing that there was a bad model. Any specific years to stay away from that anyone is aware of?

Also, any thoughts on Suntour?

Older rs domain u turn.

Totem solo air lowered to 160 will weigh as much as a lyrik u turn.

Lyriks are big $$ in the used market. i gave up trying to find a good cheap one
