Going to be in Merritt this weekend camping in the Kane Valley for a Stag event.
Going to ride Iron Mountain Sat/Sun. Anyone have a loop or two they recommend?
Talked to Travis at Breathe bikes and gave me some good info.
Just thought some peeps on here may have some recommendations also.

When I was there in the spring, Herioc Doses was covered with deadfall in a big way. Looked like that side of the mtn was being neglected compared to the other side.

I can't be sure, but just looking at trailforks I think it was 98 to black gnarnia to godey's that was worked on and in the best shape.

Our ride we did in the Spring.

The cow classic course is supposed to be good again too. They've figured it out with the Motos that were previously trashing the area.

Add this route to your wishlist and it will come up on the Trailforks app and you can follow it!

Riding around the Info Center is good as well. You can do a couple of loops in here that are fun.

So did 2 days in Merritt.

Day one: Climbed up "Too Much Info" to the top, then rode "Godey Traverse" to the "Fox Farm Road" to the top of "Berms". This was a bit of a slog, Was hurting a bit because I did a big ride the day before in Naramata.
"Berms" Decent to "Godey Creek" Decent. Good lap 3 hours

Day 2: Shuttled up the back of Iron Mountain. Rode "99" and "Treats" These trails were way tougher at the top than expected. Super impressed with the different types of terrain on the way down. Then connected and finished with "3 Shot Willow" and "Godey Steeps." A good lap for sure.
Only did the one shuttle due to sharp rocks on the drive up wasn't really the greatest situation for the tires on my car so didn't want to push my luck.
So back to the Info Centre for climb number 2. Ripped up and did the "Ridge" Trail.
A great lap.

Merritt has all different types of terrain. Rock Features, Loamy rippers, fast single track. Chunder and man made features. Over the two days didn't see hardly anyone which was strange because it was perfect riding weather.
Two thumbs up, will be back.
