nice , more modern than my 79 era .

I bought mine with the intentions of having to redo the interior , the rear bench seat is a death trap in a accident , and it has some leakage in some spots but it has the roof I wanted and is the size I wanted (19ft).

Ive. Always loved vw's but some friends beat me to it. I got to watch the trials and tribulations of pouring money into westies. They are just not cut out for bc imo.
I still long for one but its never home going to happen:(

5.0l etc etc… pretty crappy and plasticky and thirsty but im working on an organic farm this summer and also travelling so this beats paying rent.

Ive got a rudimentary kitchen with a manual pump sink, a propane stove, a hotplate and a couple small appliances. Its adequate for basic cooking. The 3 gallon black tank is a pressurized solar shower and the bucket is the shitter. Walls and ceiling are insulated and covered in hardboard. Cheap and cheerful. The Restore sold me a pack of laminate flooring for $1 so I threw together an jnsulated floor panel that sits on top of the stock rubber mat. I want to be able to get it back to stock for resale in a year or 2.

A double bed runs across the back with a shelf above the foot end for stuff and storage underneath for more stuff and my bike (which is outside ghe van in the pic but it tucks in neatly). I sleep slightly diagonal and have tons of space. Theres also a fire safe mounted under there.

The $5 ikea shoe racks hold lots of necessities. I stuff dirty laundry into the door behind it.

The center console is actually a fridge inside an insulated box. I get power for this snd other small electtonics from a 33mah deep cycle battery that I recharge every other day. The swivel base on the passenger seat is awesome - its comfy for kickin back and the van feels pretty big inside from that seat.

Overall its pretty comfy. I use my iphone as a hotspot for web browsing on the tablet, and a 2tb wifi external drive is filled with hundreds of movies and documentsries n shit. Theres an awnjng system too. So for summertime when the livings easy, its got just about everything I need.
