I got mine at the Hi Fi store next to the old A[HTML_REMOVED]B sound on Richards. Don't know if that place is still there though, it was a few years ago. They had a few options of different styles.

I'm curious about this as well. Need me a new pair. I'm not an audiophile, but can tell the difference between good and bad. Super good and above will probably be lost on me. Mainly for laptop and iPhone use.

I like my Shure 115m+, probably the best bud's I have owned. I generally don't spend a ton of money on headphones as I break them fairly frequently.

even though the human hear can only perceive down to 20hz an electrical engineering prof i worked with explained to me a formula that explained why it makes sense. had something to do with phase changes. i'm not big on the numbers so maybe one of the uber nerds here can explain it further.

Once the signal is analogue I would have thought you'd see such effects. The speaker is just a transducer, so whether the speaker goes to 5 Hz should make no difference. Maybe the question is does your DAC work well to 5 Hz or even how it was recorded or stored. Just throwing it out there, was curious but didn't see anything on this…

the only other thing I can think of, is an improved spec at 20 Hz: there is no sharp cut-off as the numbers can imply. if the spec says 20 dB variation between 20 and 20k Hz, then you know you'll be 20 dB down at 20 Hz (looking at typical curves you always see a tail off at lower freq), which is meaningless for most people. If the spec is valid to 5 hz, then you'll be somewhat better performing at 20 Hz and you might actually hear the frequency.

I pick up a lot of studio/recording gear from the States and my guy just said he's getting an order in for these cans at this price (should be in within 2 to 3 weeks). Considering they go for $249.99 + tax locally, I thought this may pique some of your interests.

I rock the Sennheiser PC333D and they rock! I ussually rip through headphones and these have lasted almost a year with no probs.

For skulls sensitive to pressure(for me, if I walk too fast…a ball cap will blow off, it's gotta be loose)…these need a wider/longer top pad. Spread the weight out as much as possible.

Oh…tilting the headband as far forward as possible helps a lot

I've replaced the pads on my sr60s a few times over the years.
The shop downstairs where I live (Bay Bloor Radio) in toronto has them in stock most of the time.

Watched/listened to some TV shows and movies lately with these on…not as important a difference as these make with music, but the added depth to the sounds in scenes is pretty neat :)

My housemate is an idiot and likes to talk on speakerphone to his girlfriend. With his door closed I can still clearly hear both sides of his conversations, that are long, and mainly revolve around what he thinks on various subjects.

What are some good closed back headphones for use with a Boss amp modeler? It doesn't sound awesome, but it's better than hearing his inane opinions on everything. Budget is important, don't want to go much higher than 100 bucks, cause I usually just play through my Mesa (cause he's usually not around).
