Are Stan's Flow EX the go to 26 rim?

I need new hoops on my Enduro and these are what I'm thinking, unless there are better/lighter/stronger options out there.

I have been using the WTB frequency i23 for about 3 years now and have no complaints. I believe they are also a bit lighter and cheaper. Easy to setup tubless as well.

there are lighter options out there, whether they're strong enough is debatable. i just smashed my wtb frequency i25, a rim quite similar to the flow, trying to air a rock section on dales on a hardtail without enough tire pressure, which goes to show nothing is strong enough to survive stupid. lighter options at the same width are the wtb kom i25 (just built a set, going to try to stay on top of tire pressure), the spank oozy trail and the new easton arc's, which are a bit pricier

flow ex is a solid rim. but for a 26" wheel i'd be tempted to go lighter…

Definitely a good rim. Ran two sets of non-EX rims on my AM and DH rigs for three years with few problems. Eventually ate up a rear rim at WBP after 2 years but that's bike park for you. Sold the AM bike with the original rims still running strong. Given the performance of the Flow in the bike park, I would be tempted to go with an Arch EX and save a bit of weight on a pedally bike but it probably depends on whether the extra rim width is important to you.

Wtb team frequency top notch love mine toughand stiff as nails , are UST certified so they set up tubeless like a dream. No brainer

Flows are great if you are a hard charging rider or get a lot of air. Arches are noticeably lighter but not as stiff. I run flows on my Chilcotin and Arches on my Warden. You can definitely feel the difference. Wtb's or Arcs are also very good options.

I would give the DT Swiss EX 471 a try. I am running the 650b version on my nomad and they are bomb proof. Light, wide and strong.

What if you're a complete hack who finds every square edge on the trail?

SPANK OOZY295 or OOZY260 $$$ well spent , low 400grams weight and take a pounding . I have 800km on mine and finally tweaked my rear rim after sucking my derailleur into the spokes .

going to be building up a set of the 295 series with DTSwiss 340 28 hole straight pull hubs ups for this years season .
