Hello;

So I have an 05/06 Boxxer Team that I'm using for the time being. It's an 05/06 because the lowers are 05 with pinch bolts, while the compression is 06 Motion Control.

Anyway, the rebound knob keeps backing out, leaving me with minimal rebound control and a very springy fork. I have to use a 2mm allen, because the aluminum knob that I believe is supposed to be there, isn't.

I could tear the fork apart, and probably will tomorrow, but I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem, and if anyone knows what to look for once I open it up. Is it even necessary to open it up?

Yes take it apart and look at the bottom of the shinny shaft where the crimp is. (just above the piston) If the crimp does NOT have punch holes around it then send in your fork and they should replace the rebound assembly. The newer ones have four or five punch holes around the crimp and don"t back off.

You might get lucky and they will ship you the new rebound ass. with out sending the whole fork in.

I have seen guys center punch this shaft but it does not hold.

Thanks Sofaking! I will take it apart and see if it's punched. I hope it is!
