SCOTT announced today they have acquired the originally Vancouver-based components brand Syncros. It's been a while since most bikes on the Shore were covered in Syncros, though the 2003 Ritchey acquisition was a positive move for the company.

I thought Ritchey was owned by Dia Compe?

i've got a few vintage vancouver built syncros bits kicking about - seatposts, steerhorns, a couple (150mm) cattleprod stems, a shotgun bar (straight tube, no bends), and a ti bb. i lament selling the forks. would still love a set of the steel revolution cranks. some of the best components you could buy back in the day.

i had one from that generation, put a lot of miles on it. finally retired after it pooped the bed in an xc race last spring

a buddy bent his new generation syncros post on that little drop climbing hwy 102 on the sunshine coast… 'course his was only a few months old

Ya, my vintage Syncros post met the same fate a few months ago on the climb up the woodlot. Zip ties and first aid tape helped me carry on with the adventure.

I went through two one year. Both cracked at the insertion of the head and the head fell right off. Replaced with the titanium version. That went the distance.
