I've been thinking about getting a camper. I have an 02 dodge 3/4 ton flatbed, so my plan is to build two long toolboxes that would bolt onto the bed for outdoor storage. At least one would be built of heavy enough metal that it wouldn't need a center brace, so that skis could be carried in it. Add a locking latch and I'll be good to go.

Come for a drive and I'll sell you my camper

If you decide to look at 5th wheels let me know, my friend wants to sell her minty 22 foot Kustom Koach. Comes with a brand new superglide hitch (she paid 3500.00 for the hitch). She wants 4500.00 for everything, sold her truck is putting the rig and hitch up on CL next week.

We're running a Tacoma and light trailer combo. The trailer has a dry weight of 2100 lbs so it's not too tuff for the truck to pull. The motos just fit in the truck but the tailgate must remain down. Doing moto/Mtb trips would make for a tight squeeze so I'm thinking a new truck/trailer combo will likely be in the future(5yrs). I'd like to be about to do 2 motos,1 dual purpose moto and 2 to 4 mtbs so trailer with a forward toy area and a full size truck with a tall canopy will fit the bill.

I really like the trailer option as one can leave it at the camp site and haul the motos or Mtbs easily to another location. Dual purpose bike could be used for shuttle retrivals. Having a truck also works for all the days when one is not camping. I'm really hoping in the future to spend 1-2 months, once or twice a year travelling around. Might even try some camping at ski hills too

Had a queen size bed in back for me and the mrs, room at foot for the pooch.. 4x4 and the bike on the tail…it worked good.

Here's what I have at the moment. Selling both the truck (2006 Tacoma) and trailer (2011 19' Hideout) to buy bigger.

Damn. Not sure why that image won't display, and I need to go ride, so here:

My Urban Assault Vehicle…

I want to add a boler or similar cheap trailer to it for light camping/biking trips.

The wife brought up she wants to get rid of the Passat for something else. I wonder if I could convince her to get something else road trip friendly.

I don't think Bolers are cheap anymore, they have a cult following.

Just sold one of these had for a few years, got it in to some remote campsites. Now use a lifted, insulated cargo trailer that holds 3 motos, boat etc, that has other uses other than just camping. I think people call them cargo conversions.

Class A motorhomes go for cheap. Don't mess around - get one.
