just saw a clip of the crash that cost zanardi his F1 career . . . the fact that he survived at all is a miracle , and a testament to the work of modern engineering .

This thread is about F1, not minor league racing like CART. (To TheWeev; Raikkonen's pass thru Eau Rouge reminded me of Alonso passing Schumi thru Suzuka's 130R years ago. Pure skill [HTML_REMOVED] requiring balls the size of grapefruits.)

Sad to see Sid Watkins pass away. I'm pretty impressed with his career accomplishments, especially in F1. He played a big role in there not being a death in F1 since Senna in 1994. I advise F1 fans to read up about Imola in 1987 to find out how he refused to allow Piquet to race, threatening to leave the circuit if he did. RIP.

Remember when it was a big deal that JV did Eau Rouge at full throttle? Is that still a big deal or do the modern cars just do it no problemo.

Wrong. Always.

not during the opening laps (heavy fuel load) but towards the end they do

Jubilation! Hamilton drops out with a box full of neutrals, yes! I think Schumi should think about a second retirement. I don't know if his colliding with JEV was a mechanical or not, but he seems to make bone-head moves every so often. I'm now thinking Mercedes may choose to put a younger driver in next season.

Hamilton to Mercedes next year. Schumacher is left w/o a seat. Maybe he will go to Sauber?

Hamilton has got to be the least likeable person in motorsport.

I think Schumi should retire at the end of this season. He could bring alot to a team like Sauber, but I think it would be a big step down for him. At least with Mercedes he had a realistic chance of winning a race this year. (Rosberg won a race in the same car) Time to leave while you're close to the top [HTML_REMOVED] let a young gun have a seat. Rosberg better appreciate Schumi while he can. He'll be team-mates with a real dick next year.

Nice pass by Hulkenberg.

This thread is about F1, not Fiat exhausts. Take that shit elsewhere. [Edit; Looks like Ferrari(It's now official), Red Bull [HTML_REMOVED] Lotus will all retain their current drivers for next year. Kobayashi may be without a seat as Sauber is going with Hulkenberg [HTML_REMOVED] perhaps Gutierrez.]
