WOOOO! It's here!

$7.99 a month unlimited movies and tv shows!

And if your one of those idiots that says omg you can just download for free. Well I'd rather have 10/10 sound/video instantly available for the price of a big mac a month.

www.netflix.ca

the downside….the selection is terrible.

you can download movies with 10/10 sound and video.

Not only that, but you can download movies from different parts of the world that you can't rent from netflix.

50000 sounds like a lot.. but when you consider there are about 40000 episodes of friends, and at least 5000 j-lo movies, that doesnt leave a whole lot left.

Just an FYI - you can register up to 6 devices with them, and stream to up to 4 of them simultaneously.

I'm gonna sign up for the free month and give it a shot.

The selection is pretty sad.

I agree the selection is disappointing but at least we are now getting closer to how things should and will be.

Its a good start!

I'm currently running movies and shows off my old lap top. Its not clear that I can use this laptop with netflix?

I'll probably give it a try over the winter.

Downloading isn't free. If I charged out minimum wage for all the time I have wasted with formats, codecs, shitty recording jobs, torrents that wither to a crawl on the last few megs, etc, etc, I think I would have enough to afford Netflix. I still do it mind you, but it doesn't really cut it when I just want to sit down and watch a movie. With the PS3 app, and if they improve the selection, Netflix is a deal.

The PS3 app would be a huge selling point.

I have never received a virus with a torrent…as well since I run VLC I also now never have to deal with codec issues…and you read the comments to figure out if it is a good copy or not, your fault if you didn't and it turned out to be shit….lol.

I started downloading one of the shows that aired last night and it was done downloading in under a minute…fuck I love that.

The virus thing was actually a bit sarcastic.. I've never gotten one either but whenever I mention torrents that's the first thing people say.
