*URGENT* disc brake help
if they are not hydro's then you should start by replacing cables. Then I would wipe down the rotor's with rubbing alcohol. If these things don't fix your brakes then I would replace the pads.
If this problem continues then you know you need hydro's
Sounds like the last thing you did ,the degreaser didnt do the pads any good, maybe you need to wear the pads in again after the degreaser?
You could try baking/sanding the pads followed by some stops to break them in.
Try new pads if that doesnt work
ya, your pads are definitely toast, degreaser leaves a residue and pads are like metal sponges. there may still be something on your rotor too, the rubbing alchohol may do the trick for that, and you can always rinse them too in some water. I'm not sure the degreaser will come out of the pads with cooking, but i suppose it's worth a try.
They've got the guns but we've got the numbers! Gonna win ya we're takin over.
on the inside of the caliper (the side facing you wheel)you should have a little round adjuster thing, give it a few turns and it should move your pads closer together, make sure you loosen off you cable first. if you dont its not going to help you because there is a stopper thing on it and thats whats probly keeping your brakes from working. i had the exact same problem with my mechs. hopefully that made sence
rubbing alcholo the rotor and pads. if still no worky put em into the oven till they stop smookin at liek 375
You don't need to put pads in the oven.
I use a stove and it works perfect all the time (backside on the stove). After cooking it, give it a wipedown with some isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol. Let dry. Then give the rotors a wipedown with alcohol as well. Let dry.
After that, find a nice, big, hill. And start burning them in again. :)

Pfft,
Flatulence + Lighter = nice pads

jsut boil the pads and they should be good as new

This is important, as after you've properly degreased your pads they need to be broken in.
It is easy to dodge our responsibilities, but we cannot dodge the consequences of dodging our responsibilities.
