So I saw a Manitou Travis today at the base of the mountain. Are they 'out' already, or is it just because this is Whistler?

Yea…I'd say that there's almost more hype for the Bike Park than there is for the mountain in the winter. I guess that will change once more lift-accessed parks pop up in the future.

I'm guessing they'll be priced similarly to the now-discontinued Dorado?

I don't know…the Dorado was carbon, which drove up the price. The Travis doesn't look as exotic. I'm assuming they'll shoot for the 888 price, as it's the main competition.

The guy riding the travis today works for manitou, I got to feel it and have a look at it, its pretty sweet, it has mrd written on the top caps of the stanchions and adjuster at the top. Its like what they said, a mix between a dorado and slider perfectly. I have owned a slider and own a dorado now. Its like the slider but feels like a dorado. i just hope you can have the ability to adjust it to 7". Looks sick, can't wait to actually get to try one out, but I can say its got almost the exact feeling as my dorado has, which is good…unfotunately I may be tempted to buy one in the future.

BTW, i tested by hand the small bump absorption, by lightely pressing on it and it reacted quite well, I understand its not a real test, but to me its good enough, and high speed is excellent too

another good thing about this fork is that it will probably do better for freeride than the more DH-specific Dorado

soundsystem gonna bring me back up! It's one thing that I can depend on…

the new TRavis falls in line above the Sherman but below the Dorado…

dont expect it to cost the same as the Dorado did…

the future of the Dorado line is shrouded in mystery….8-)
