Ok this weekend me and my friend whent on a road trip to silver star and then we went to sun peaks at sun peaks we were doing a bunch of runs and after lunch whe started up the chair lift for another run so we get to the top and my friend gets his bike n im waiting for a while and then the lifty asks me what kind of bike a ride n I said a k2 disco monkey and he tells me that my bike fell off. (the bike i saved up for summer after summer)I was really confused i was wondering if he was joking or not. so he gets me on a chair going down and i was thinking how my bike was. i fannaly get down to the bottum and my bike looks ok butt i try to bring it over to the shop and the rim is bent up so so can't even move it and the front rims is bent as well so i bring it into the bike shop and they true the front wheel and put a new rim on the back . I rode the bike around a bit and it felt ok exept i thought the head set was a bit lose. So i felt it was ok n whent off for my last run for the day i met up with a pro photographer and he took some sweet pics of me . any way i finished that last run of the day i was putting the bike on to the bike rack and i was tightening up the starps and i look at the head tube welds and just under neath there was a crack from one side to the other also alover the forks lowers where tons of scrathes n a few on the stantions. the people at sun peaks told me to get my dad to call them n figuer everything out because i was with my friends parent so im hopeing that i get a new bike or at leased a new frame!

Dude, that's a bitch about the bike. They should definately replace it for no charge. They fucked up, it was their problem.

Hopefully you'll get it resolved quickly.

Sweet pics, that last one is pretty dope.

I hope the Mag 30 they put on your bike was the exact rim you had.

Is that an 8" front rotor on a standard QR? If they replace the fork, tell them you'll pay the extra few bucks for the Tullio 20mm. Can't be running an 8" front rotor on a standard QR.

have you had a bad experience with QR and 8" rotors or do you say that because of that guys anti-quick release web site?

I say that because my wheel came out of the dropout with an 8" up front on a standard QR. That isn't supposed to happen.

Edit: Just a note, I think QR is one of the best innovations for MTB. Lightweight, efficient, easy, fast, and most imporantly, almost impossible to fuck up. It is SO much easier to fix a flat with a QR than with a bolt on.

what kind of riding were you doing? it could have been a little loose but i'll bet you check that ahead of time.

it's pretty hard for me to get my wheel out unless my QR is loosened a ton.

Same, my 8in on a QR has worked fine you just have to make shure that the qr is tight. That sucks about your bike though bitch em out for droping your bike!
