i was planning my trip up there for the week july 12-17 but i just looked on thier site and i see that is when the drumming thing is on. my question is how bad is the noise up there? the crowd, i don't care about, its the sitting havin a beer and the pounding. Is it really bad?

I was up there riding during that event last summer. No crowds and no drinking distractions (if anything could actually throw you off that). You could hear the piping all the way up the mountain, it helps to keep your rhythm on rock star.

yo dude, i was at silver star almost everyday during the summer. It was super sick and is definitley worth coming out next year. If anything don't come out during the bagpipe thing. I actually got so annoyed. But its not a big deal if you aren't annoyed by that stuff. Ps. You could hear it on the top of the lift.

I love bagpipes, I think it would be great to listen to that while riding. I may
have to go there during that just to ride with some pipes in the background.

I think the main concern here is that you are questioning riding, and riding at silverstar at that. Endless berms, tables, immaculate trails, minimal/no line ups - there could be a bed shitter club meeting going on up there and I'd still ride.

silverstar is wicked! they have the smoothest, flowiest berms around. and there are no lines. The dh track is awesome, with two 60 foot wallrides. go, you will enjoy it.

We were there last year during the entire bagpipe/drum event and you just tune it out after a while. Besides, it really isn't that bad :) And with the extra people in the village, it doesn't feel nearly as empty as usual either!

Because of the large amount of extra people, places book up faster, but since you have a place already, that is not a concern.

I would say go for it.

dear DW,
since you got like a million bucks now, can i borrow $2850 for a Revolt frame?

thanks,
steve
