I'm in the market for a DSLR. Here are the options:

Canon 30D
Canon Rebel XTI
Nikon D80

I know some of you people on here have experience with some of these cameras. Any information/suggestions would be helpful.

Skull Lee.

What do you want to shoot? Experience? Budget?

Shoot: a bit of everything. architechture/people/sports/landscapes/etc.

Experience: Shooting film (35mm/ medium format) for 7 years. Ive had a small Canon powershot for a while now and I am familiar with Canons menus.

Budget: Looking to spend around $2000.

Has anyone seen or read anything on the new Canons dropping in the next little while?

babes like the 30d beucase i know i think 2 babes that have those cameras, but they just like to have their pictures taken and feel pretty and the 30d can do that the most times per second so i think it will make them feel the prettiest.

I recently bought a d70s. These things are going for about $1000 right now with the 18-70 lens since they are at the end of their life cycle. If you don't need more than 6MP consider picking up one of these and spending the extra $$$ on other stuff.

Well, I was in a camera store recently and was being told that the Rebel XTi is the "it" camera at the moment. Apparently it outstrips the comparable Nikons and even has better image quality than the 30D. The price is not too shabby either… but a D70s would also be a very solid choice due to the great deals you can get on them.

30D is still the best babe magnet though.

8.2 megachixels:rocker: . If you shoot manual alot, Go with the 30d. If you shoot Aperture priority or shutter priority go with the XTi and use the savings to buy some better glass.

a Nikon D200 will also fit your budget.

I'd get an XTi with the battery grip. You can get 2 XTi's for the price of one 30D and the 30D doesnt even clean its own sensor. I haven't been in the market for a DSLR for a while so there might be some pitfall of the XTi that I don't know about, but it seems like a solid choice.
