heartbreak for Ghana

That's what happens when you choke on a penalty shot with no time left on the clock.

But if I were reffing, I'd probably have given Ghana a goal om the handball as it was clearly going in.

I think the fail (missing penalty kick in injury time) dude from Ghana has got Kamano from Japan (hitting the crossbar) beat as far as choking goes.

In which case you'd no longer be a referee. The referee came down as hard as he could given the rules and the circumstances. You've got to wonder if FIFA will take any further action against Suarez though as it was deliberate cheating.

There are two kinds of people I can't stand in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures, and the Dutch.

what.a.day.

Indeed. Two crazy games. I was impressed that all the drama in the Spain-Paraguay game was a result of good calls from the ref, not lame diving…

Way back from the old school days of NSMB…

would have been 2/0 without the offsides on the kick. Spain also controlled the ball
through most of the game.

That said, Spain is going to have their hands full w/ Germany. It should be a good match.
Germany wants revenge for the euro they lost to Spain and Spain needs to show
more heart than they did in todays game.

I'm done.

Germany played a great (and very smart) team game, and they're also fitter than the competition. That was one heck of a coaching job.

Spain is improving; Iniesta is finally back in form.

I'd like to make a prediction, but it's too close to call.
