You're right.. it's more a PC Party of Canada thing at this stage in the game. That said, if he's the "leader" he should have said, "are you guys fucking kidding me?"
I was waiting for a familiar satirical face to pop out at the end of the commercial and then we'd all laugh. But that didn't happen.
Saw this one again. Was hoping for them it was a test run and they realized, "wtf were we thinking".

I bet their main reason for doing it was the bad PR she was causing, not because they actually believe in the issue itself.

It's being objective. Yes they made the right call, eventually, but they dragged their heels on it. Beyak only got the hook after she posted bigoted support letters on her website and refused to take them down when asked. She should have been chopped right after her comments. Ideally, she should have been vetted properly and never even given a seat in the senate to begin with. If you consider those factors then this isn't really a positive at all, just a bunch of cronies out to protect their image and steer away from bad press.
