OK, shameless plug for the BC Bike Race Kazlaw Award.

The FVMBA has been building and maintaining the network of trails in the Fraser Valley for over ten years now. And more recently FVMBA has brought Grassroots racing and mountain biking in the Fraser Valley to the forefront with the Spring Series and now Trailblazer Series. All of the trail building and race organizing are done solely on a volunteer basis.

Well this year, the BC Bike Race is giving away two free entries into this years race for "someone who makes mountain biking happen in your community". And the FVMBA happens to have two of our volunteers selected as two of the four finalists, Eugene Septke and myself (Matt Scott).

Eugene has been responsible for all the hard work that has gone into turning Heritage Park, in Mission, into the buff XC course it now is. He has also spent hundreds of hours building, chopping, bucketing and shoveling all the dirt that's now Bomba, on Bear Mnt.

I was the FVMBA race director for the past two years, organizer of the Saturday Morning Toonies this year and have spent a number of years building trails such as XCelerator, Autobahn, AmbideXCrous and Lazyboy.

I ask everyone to read through the submissions and then vote for one of us. Unfortunately, you can only vote once. But to show support for FVMBA and all the volunteered hard work that has been going on the past few years, it would be great to seen a vote to one of our nominated FVMBA volunteers.

Can't speak to the other 2 people, but Matt and Eugene both deserve some votes…. 2 solid guys who put a lot of work in.
