The bearings in mine crapped out super fast. I since switched to an FSA Pig

Usually you install and forget about it.
I had the same headset, rode it for over 2 years without a single prob.

don't worry about it, 5 year warranty on bearings and lifetime on the rest.

I've had one of those for over two years. The only time I've touched it was to take it out of my old broken frame and install it in my current frame.

i went throu 3 sets of bearing isn my RAceface headset…

what a waste of money that headset was…

my bikes all run FSA Pigs now and the "unsealed" bearings have lasted heaps longer tehn the "realseal" race face headeset ever did….

RaceFace makes great parts and such but their bearings truely are crapppp…..

p.s….every guy in my riding crew who had a "realseal" headset no longer has them…. everyone either now has a FSA or a CK….

Yeah, I dunno. Maybe it was just my luck. But I ran the headset at proper compression and everything and it still blew super quick.

Really though, to answer your question there's not a whole lot of maintainence with sealed headsets (or even with my caged ball bearing pig). Just wipe the bearings down and put a layer of grease around each one in the rainy season to prolong bearing life. And tighten it down properly.
