-Keep the price at $1099 US, with a good shock.

for the whole bike?!?!?! or just the frame set, thats pretty $$$ if only frame/shock

bikes:
04 norco 4by w/ 05 sherman firefly :(
07 KTM 144sx :)

I like to throw up prior to dropping into a-line. I find it makes jumping easier.

exactly.

As for turning a bullit into a lightweight race bike, why? The bullit is a single pivot do it all bike, the only one in their lineup and their most popular bike.

Think about Santa Cruz models that have gone away, then come back.

Back in the day they had the heckler 4" trail bike, bullit 6" FR bike, Super 8 8" DH bike.

Heckler went away, replaced by 4" superlight, which was essentially a light OLD heckler.

Bullit got beefier, slacker, mo' travel up to 7".

Super 8 went away.

Heckler came back as beefy 6" bike, essentially a light OLD bullit

Bullit went away

I think they are going to bring back the Bullit as a lighter, improved Super 8.

super light 4" --- Blur

Heckler 6" --- Nomad

????? 8" --- VPFree

I talked to a Santa Cruz guy, and they said that they're pretty much redoing the entire design, only the rear travel is staying the same according to him

I disagree with the heckler part. I had two of them the year they were not being produced (99? or something) any way. It was 4inches with gusssets, but it was a freeride bike, still is a freeride bike. Superlight never took it over, it had always been lighter, more of a XC bike. I think the bikes just changed with the evolution of the sport, and the bullit is right were it needs to be.

I think it should stay just about where it is w/ only minimal changes to take advantage of modern fabricating advances (and maybe a replaceable hanger). The thing that's so special about the Bullit is it's versitility to be run as a big hucker w/ Monsters up front or a light weight, super tough enduro w/ Fox 36's. (mine's got a 7" travel 888 and does a lot of both types of riding) It's the total do-it-all package that's the heart and soul of the Bullit. Jesus, SC should hire me! Looking forward to the next gen.

How can you say the bullit is the all-type bike of SC, it's a EIGHT INCH travel bike. I'd say the hecker and the nomad are the do it all bikes. All you need is around 6" nowadays for anything unless your a hack.

goin camando with snap pants!!!!
