Description:

Setting: it was around 4:30 afternoon, as you can see the light was poppin. A little windy but we managed. We had been wanting to shoot this line for a while but the weather wasn't agreeing with us. The final saturday before the deadline, I got what I was looking for. The light was popping from the east and dark clouds were starting to appear in the west.

How it came together: Steve and I have been working together lots for this competition and finding a line that would get all the key areas in it was hard. We knew we needed a "depth factor" so I used the tree on the right and in my previous photo a helpful hint was to show the lip - so I did. and I basically picked up from all the other winners and used the advice from all the photographers and basically collaborated it all into one photo.

It made for a good day shooting!

Winner! Nice depth of field, lines and the dust gives it life.

I think you should sharpen the rider a little more.

its not so much the photoshoping that killed this photo….its the horrible lighting. the shot itself is fukin' epic because he's got the rider at the hight of the trick, nicely off center and there is a good balance. but taking a shot at 4 00 pm during a sunny day in kamloops is a bad idea as we can all see.
there is to much glare making the photo appear very flat aswell as distracting the viewers eye.

if this was shot during the 'golden hour' it would of been on the money 4 sure!

Not afraid to stick his balls out there and give it some contrast. Well done, sir. It may be hard to stare at, but it sure catches the eye and gives the stoke. And this photo fully exposes and autopsies another dimension that the other photos only hint at: time. You can see the last five seconds of riding!

I'm a sucker for dark dank Shore photos but this is my choice. The dust on the hillside makes it
