We're planning a week long trip to Nelson and area in a couple of weeks. We'll move around a couple of times - thinking of camping up at Box Lake near New Denver for a couple of days (thanks Sharon - saw your report when I searched).

Any specific campground recommendations closer to Nelson? Was looking at Kokanee Creek provincial but it's 20 minutes out of Nelson (which may be good or bad, don't really know where the riding is)

Thanks!

There is a bunch of riding right across from the provincial campground.

cool waters is what you want

Was there last week..again

It's either there, across the road from the Railgrade to Mtn Station; and 1.5km down from The Giveout shuttle road…or the cramped City park

New Denver has a reasonable muni campground in the town, but Silverton has the best, right on a harbour, swimming and kayaks and views everywhere (with new facilities this year)

Kokanee park is still a gong show this time of year, and a long way out from Nelson if you wanted to party in the town.

Don't forget Rossland..They've developed new trails at the start of the old Oasis trail (PR), and they're ultra class (and just 10 mins from Nancy Green summit on the 3
