We didn't ride the 45km Smith Creek Loop due to the weather. We saw some other locals on the trail who were doing the out and back and asked them what they thought of the loop. They felt the money ride is the out and back, I tend to agree…

Moody day off Hwy 99

Climb up Ape

Lunch - my sandwich is about 1/10th the size of trevors…

We would have stopped back at the knoll but a hiker decided to take off all his clothes to hang out…weird…

Coming back the skies cleared over the mountain

This section of trail may have to be rerouted soon…

Day Three - Norway Pass;

Day one had us on Juniper Ridge, Day two an out and back on Ape Canyon.

Day three was to be a bit shorter, preferably with no Moto's so it was suggested that we ride Norway Pass.

The trailhead is off Hwy 26, which is off Hwy 99 heading to the Windy Ridge Lookout.

The complete story - with links to the previous days:
http://www.leelau.net/2009/mtsthelens2009_09/norwaypass2009_08_30/

This ride promised great views, which it delivered on plus potential for a bigger out and back next time, Norway Pass to the Coldwater Trail.

The google earth image of Norway pass in green and the Ape Canyon ride from yesterday in Red.

The ride back down was sweet!

Lunch time with a great view!

Sharon and Lee, your TR is stunning as always. They're always a good watch and my to-ride-list gets longer and longer everytime I check them out. They nicely represent BC's backcountry biking (as well as the TRs across the border, like this one) for me as an European beholder.

Thanks for sharing!

And yay! for the New Order soundtrack, nice pick for the cloudy segments!
