there is a time in every bikes life were it has to be upgraded, thats what time it is for my bighit comp 03. I am getting a 04 sherman slider for the front, grips, new pads, ect… But the real question right now is if i should get the 8" upgrade. I only go dh 3 times a year. I do tons of urban, tons of dj, and tons of big drops. I live in Massachuesets. It is 100 percent flat here. Should i get the 8" upgrade to balance out my rig with the 7" of front travel? thanks

i would think more travel on the front would be better, or equal if anything in my oppinon. If I was from a flat area, and im still not, I would be goin pimped out hardtail all the way.

I already have my bighit and love it. I do to big of drops to do comfortably on a hardtail. Like 10-15 feet. Do you think I should get the 8" upgrade considering my conditions? thanks

I don't know how much a conversion kit is, but the 8 inches of travel on the Big Hit is sweet. Feels bottomless.

I have not seen to many people around massachusets do a 10-15 foot drop comfortably. Since all the tranys are prety getto.

Personaly I switched my big hit from 8 back to 6 and ill probably drop it into the 5.5. setting.

Big travel is overrated.

Yeah it doesn't matter about how much travel you have, just get a stiff enough spring that won't bottom out. Maybe get an avalance rear shock and stick with 6.3 inches of travel. As for everyone telling him to get a hardtail, I think he wants to stick with the bike he already has. I own the big hit and have the 8 inch link along with a shiver dc in the front, the bike soaks up everything in its path, and it laughs at 10-15 foot hucks. Not that I can go bigger than 15 feet, but I know the bike can. If I were you I would get an avalanche.

ok so i gues that 6.3" of travel is enough to balance out the bike with 7" of travel up front? um… What size avalanche would you suggest? And how much is it? thanks
