#!markdown The 2.3 Butcher is not what I'd call wide for its sticker size. Nor narrow. Closer to 'true'. I've spent a lot of time on the Butcher up front and Purgatory on the rear and can echo what Jon said: they perform well, last admirably, and are priced lower than some of the competition, making them easy to recommend. One thing: the casings tend to be a bit thin, so far a hardtail especially I'd recommend Grid casing, at least for the rear tire.
