Another complication is where on the continuum of Low, mid, and high speed rebound is best to "speed up". After trying a bunch of shocks and working with a few tuners I have come to find that I like a fairly closed LSC dial to give me a good amount of low speed rebound dampening, I can tolerate and prefer a very fast mid speed rebound, and then enough progressively/HSR in the damping curve to prevent kicking at bottom out/whoops. I am most sensitive to "mid speed" rebound but on most stock suspension with just LSR dial, to get mid speed rebound fast enough, my low speed ends up way to fast for my prefference.
