Unfortunately because the white border is part of the image, and the image is the same aspect ratio (16:9) as most (non Mac) standard screens, fit to screen doesn't have any effect. I understand the desire to help it fit to multiple aspect ratios nicely, if the border is required for that purpose, could you make it black instead?
\*\* I cropped out the border to solve my own problem, but I still think a black border would be nicer
