I'd keep going the route you are. Let's be realistic about what manufacturers
are sending you, dollar wise, in bikes for review. I can't think of a single
good reason to not put the wrenches to a $2k+ bike. You don't need to go into
super deep details about what you did, but a quick note that upon receiving
the bike under went a disassemble/reassemble prior to review. I'm not talking
suspension overhauls, but a quick double check on the bleed of the brakes
(safety first!) and making sure everything was assembled correctly isn't a
terrible thing to do.
