I wouldn't be too quick to laugh at that (as goofy as it would look). I do a
lot of tandem riding and traction is ALWAYS an issue whenever we start going
down anything fun.
I've only dorked around on a fatbike for about 10 minutes, but if larger tires
means no more understeer (yeah, that's a thing on tandem), and being able to
go down steeper stuff without loosing control then I wouldn't rule it out.
