What are you Afraid Of? - Aug. 25, 2020, 5:38 a.m.

What a great depiction of the struggle to push past your fears! I love a DJ too and hit some every ride. The fear is always there. Mostly I push past any doubts. Sometimes I listen to it, and come back another day.

I’m 44 and suffered a very bad wrist fracture last year (plates, lost movement, continued pain), and a not so bad one 4 years ago. I’m still riding everything, and getting better.

In both accidents I was riding well (ahem..) and had no doubts. Perversely, that’s leading me to do a better job of ignoring those doubt and focus on the technique.

Maybe I’ve been over-dependent on the mental equation: “no doubts = everything will be fine” and that made me a little complacent about my technique...?🤨

Sellers Remorse - Nov. 8, 2019, 12:15 p.m.

My regret is selling my Intense Slopestyle mk1, particularly as I sold it only 3 years ago and for not much money. Great park bike and for hammering round the Surrey Hills here in the UK. A tad short, but fast, burly, poppy, and in raw aluminium looked very “factory”.

Going back a lot (lot) further I sold a bike with PowerGrips. These were an alternative to toe clips and pre-dated SPDs as far as I remember. I’ve ridden flats for the last 10 years and wouldn’t go back, but would be great to try them out again! Turns out they still make them!

Gore Power Trail GT AS Waterproof Shorts - April 2, 2018, 12:26 a.m.

I live in the sodden UK and have favoured Altura Attack 360 waterproof shorts for a while now - long, baggy, nicely made, tough, not vastly expensive. Mind you, I did slash a pair to pieces when I fell at speed on a hardpack gravely downhill section.

Santa Cruz Nomad IV - Dec. 21, 2017, 10:59 p.m.

Great review! It’s exactly why I keep coming back to this site. Good work Sir!

Can You Escape The New Bike Tractor Beam? - May 30, 2017, 12:35 p.m.

Folk buying the latest kit means I can buy the stuff they're done with. I get great value, they get cutting edge, and the industry can afford to keep developing better stuff

Schooled by Boys Aged 6 and 8 - Feb. 19, 2016, 1:08 p.m.

That's the most inspiring video I've seen on a biking site!
