Was it the Specialized marketing department that came up with the term "e-bikes" to start? I haven't seen electric cars and electric motorcycles being called e-cars and e-motorcycles anywhere. What's next? If it has built-in wifi will it be called an i-bike?

The 27.5 brake cables look like they are made from the rubber hose you would use for fuel lines on an automobile. Did Santa Cruz supply that photo?

Looking at the scores in the top ten... even if they would have awarded Brendan 10 points higher (which he absolutely deserved), he would have ironically ended up in 8th. The judges are definitely looking for huge exposure while tricking to break into the 80's. He needed to add another "trick" up top for that kind of score.

After all the pre-game hype, I was most looking forward to seeing Jordie Lunn. He seemed to have a good combination of both tricks and techie sections planned. Not entirely sure what happened after his top half, but they said he was sick all week. 

In the end, I think it's more of a buzzkill that they didn't give Andreu's mach-speed run with the insane back-to-back a nod into the 90's over Rheeder's slower, buttered run with enormous flat drop flip :D

No matter how hard we try to paint it, the e-bike is essentially a completely different sport that requires different equipment and results in different rides. I can even envision e-bike specific riding gear (helmets, shoes, protection, clothing) coming soon ~ or more likely already here. Recognizing that, this issue personally comes down to cost consideration and available time for me. I only have the time and budget for a few serious pursuits. Not going to give up human-powered bike rides (or any of my other favorite summer activities) for e-bikes which leaves absolutely no budget or time for e-bikes. Even if I was interested in them, sacrificing something else to pursue it seems very unlikely. I enjoy the idea of motorcycles, alpine skis, and parachutes, but I don't own them for the same reasons. The only time I see myself on an e-bike in the next 5 years would be a rental situation in an e-bike specific area.

I was in Portland last month and they are making seriously good food there! It is everywhere. You don't need a local guide, just walk down the street wherever you are and follow your nose and eyes. You'll soon find yourself asking, "is that a hint of hibiscus in the aioli?"

The San Quentin seems like another good value from Marin if you are looking on a tight budget. Is it up for review in the near future?
